Krieger to Deliver Merger Concerns Directly to First Energy
2/24/2010

In an effort to shed more light on the impact that the merger of Allegheny Energy and First Energy will have on current Allegheny Power employees and consumers, Representative Tim Krieger (R-Delmont) scheduled a meeting Tuesday, Feb. 24 with FirstEnergy CEO Anthony J. Alexander at Arnold Palmer Regional Airport.    Due to heavy fog, this meeting was postponed and will be rescheduled in the near future.

“I, along with many of the people of the 57th District and Westmoreland County, am very concerned about the announced merger between Allegheny Energy and First Energy.  While First Energy executives are justifiably concerned with their bottom line, my primary concern is the people of the 57th District, and how the proposed merger will impact the employees of Allegheny Energy and the rates which we all pay for electricity.  I look forward to meeting with Mr. Alexander in the very near future to candidly discuss these concerns face to face.”
